Kazakhmys to support implementation of projects in Karaganda region

Deputy Akim of the Karaganda region Yermek Alpysov and ESG project manager of Kazakhmys Holding LLP Saken Shayakhmetov signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation between the akimat of the region and the Kazakhmys group of companies, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the akimat of the Karaganda region.

The purpose of the memorandum is to ensure mutual support and active cooperation of the parties in the development of infrastructure and improvement of cities and districts where Kazakhmys Corporation is present.

As part of the agreement, in the coming years, 2.1 km of the emergency section of the main sewer collector will be repaired in Balkhash, and the reconstruction of the medical building for a kindergarten will begin. Together with the Center for Urban Studies, city improvement projects will be implemented, and a new stationary summer stage will be installed.

Also, due to the financing of the Kazakhmys Corporation, design estimates for some projects of life support networks in Balkhash will be developed.

The memorandum also reflects other projects in the implementation of which Kazakhmys will take part. Thus, the company will support the repair of a school in the village of Abyz, Karkaraly district. And in the village of Aktau, the roofs of two five-story buildings will be repaired.
