Zhambyl region strengthens business ties with Turkey at investment forum

Akim (mayor) of the Zhambyl Region Yerbol Karashukeyev took part in the Kazakh-Turkish investment forum and held meetings in the B2G format with Turkish companies, El.kz eports citing the akimat of the region.
The forum has become an important platform for strengthening business ties, discussing prospects for cooperation in the field of trade and investment. Yerbol Karashukeyev noted that Turkish companies are showing deep interest in expanding their presence in the Zhambyl region. He spoke about the advantages of the region: a favorable geographical location, natural resources and the development of the metallurgical, chemical and construction industries.
A flexible investment policy is being formed in the region, confirmed by projects worth $7 billion planned for implementation in the next three years. Turkish companies are offered niches for investment in the processing of agricultural products, construction, mining, production of cable products, electrical equipment and thermal insulation materials.
The akim noted the readiness of the region to provide investors with support, preferences and production facilities with ready-made infrastructure. A separate unit has been created in the directorate of Zhambyl Invest to work with Turkey.
Within the framework of the forum, the parties discussed the project for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Mersin and its impact on the development of the economy. The Zhambyl delegation expressed interest in transferring the experience of Turkish partners.
Mustafa Ozdamar, Deputy Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted the high investment potential of the region and expressed readiness for cooperation. Irfan Demiroz, Deputy Governor of Mersin Province, emphasized the historical and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey and expressed his commitment to the development of bilateral relations.
Business representatives from Mersin are interested in joint projects with the Zhambyl region in areas such as cement, diesel oil, solar panels, fruit and vegetable processing. During the meetings, each project was discussed in detail, the akim of the region answered in detail the questions of businessmen.
