U.S. Congress congratulates Kazakhstan on Republic Day
Members of the U.S. Congress, Representatives Jimmy Panetta (California), Robert Aderholt (Alabama), and Tom Suozzi (New York), made remarks in the Official Congressional Record on the occasion of Republic Day, underscoring the strong bilateral relations between the United States and Kazakhstan, El.kz cites MFA.
The Members of Congress reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Kazakhstan’s efforts to promote peace, security, and economic development. They emphasized that over the years of its sovereign development, Kazakhstan has grown into a prosperous nation with a strong economy, substantial international standing, and robust ties with the United States.
The U.S. legislators commended the political and social reforms of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Rep. Suozzi specifically highlighted the nationwide referendum on building a nuclear power plant held on October 6 of this year, describing it as an important step toward establishing a new socio-political culture in line with the “Listening State” concept.
J.Panetta and T.Suozzi also noted Kazakhstan’s leadership in the region as a committed U.S. partner. They underscored Kazakhstan’s contributions to regional security, economic stability, and cooperation, demonstrated by Kazakhstan’s promotion of key initiatives from the 2023 «C5+1» summit held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly: the «B5+1» platform, the «C5+1» Critical Minerals Dialogue, and C5+1 initiatives on disability rights.
Additionally, R. Aderholt and T. Suozzi highlighted Kazakhstan’s interfaith harmony amid cultural and religious diversity, recognizing the significance of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
Members of the House of Representatives expressed support for establishing Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with Kazakhstan to ensure its economic growth receives full recognition and support in the global marketplace.
