University of Water Management and Irrigation opens in Kazakhstan
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed the decree on launching a new university of Water Management and Irrigation in the city of Taraz, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.
In April of this year, at the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to take measures to restore the Zhambyl Hydro-reclamation and Construction Institute with appropriate material and technical support.
Thus, the specialized educational institution will train highly qualified personnel for the water management and irrigation system on a permanent basis. New educational programs will be introduced at KazNUA, such as "“Land Reclamation and Water Management", "Geodesy and Cartography", "Hydraulic Construction in Water Management", "Engineering Water Supply Systems", "Innovative Technologies in Water Management".
It is planned that from September 1, 2024, the new university will be able to accept students.
The total contingent of the university will be 4 thousand students for the entire cycle of training.
