UN Secretary-General António Guterres landed in Almaty
UN Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Almaty. He will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as part of a discussion that will be held in the SCO+ format, El.kz reports.
The Astana summit will be unprecedented in terms of the number of participants in the discussion, as well as the organizational structure. For the first time, the Summit will be held in the format of a meeting of the Council of Heads of State and the SCO Plus Meeting.
The meeting will be attended by 10 countries - India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus (in the status of a member state) and the heads of the SCO permanent bodies.
The SCO Plus meeting will be held on the theme "Strengthening multilateral dialogue - striving for sustainable peace and development".
The meeting in the SCO Plus format will be held with the participation of Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
