UN General Assembly Establishes Regional Centre for Sustainable Development established in Almaty

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the establishment of the UN Regional Sustainable Development Goals Center for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty,El.kz news agency reports.

The document was approved with the support of 152 countries. The President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to international partners for supporting this initiative and noted that the new center will become a key platform for coordinating international efforts in the field of sustainable development.

This decision is an important foreign policy achievement of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Zheldibay, Press-Secretary and Advisor to the Kazakh President wrote on his Telegram channel.

The new UN Center will contribute to the implementation of global and regional development programs, ensure cooperation among the countries of the region and attract international resources for sustainable growth
