Turkic Universiade to start in Kazakhstan on November 5
From 5 to 10 November, the II Turkic Universiade will be held in the city of Turkestan. The program of the games will include 7 sports such as volleyball, futsal, table tennis, chess, judo, freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Recall that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the holding of the Turkic Universiade in Kazakhstan at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in 2022.
The purpose of the Turkic Universiade is to promote comprehensive cooperation between Turkic countries through sports competitions among students.
Over 450 student athletes from the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan) and Hungary (observer) will take part in the Universiade.
