Top 5 most popular medical specialties named in Kazakhstan

The TOP-5 most popular medical specialties today include therapists, radiologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, surgeons, obstetricians-gynecologists. They are followed by pediatricians, cardiologists, psychiatrists, and rehabilitation therapists. It was stated at a briefing at the CCS by First Vice Minister of Health Sultangaziyev Timur,  El.kz reports.

Based on the vacant positions in our healthcare system, the shortage of doctors in the public sector is 4864 specialists, of which 3742 doctors are short in the city, and 1121.50 in the countryside.

- We also see that the shortage of doctors is decreasing. Compared to 2022, the deficit decreased by 23%, in the city a decrease of 24%, in the countryside - a decrease of 21%. If we count in terms of unoccupied positions, then there is a shortage of 4819 paramedics in our health care system, which is 27% less than at the end of 2022," the speaker said.

To provide the market of medical personnel in accordance with its needs, approaches to the formation of the state order for residency have been changed.
