Tokayev receives President of Microsoft in Central Europe and Central Asia
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with, President of Microsoft Central Europe and Central Asia Michelle Simmons, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Microsoft on the development of the IT industry and the creation of a full-fledged ecosystem for startups were discussed.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that the Kazakhstan office of Microsoft has been transformed into a multi-regional hub, whose activities cover Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and Pakistan.
The Head of State said that Kazakhstan is actively working on legislation in the field of artificial intelligence, in order to use its potential for the development of innovation and economic growth. Next year, it is planned to create a National Center for Artificial Intelligence, which will become the basis of the infrastructure for the digital transformation of the country.
Michelle Simmons noted that Microsoft intends to continue fruitful cooperation with the Kazakh side on digital development.
