Tokayev meets with CSTO Secretary Genera Imangali Tasmagambetov

The Head of State received the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

At the meeting, issues of implementing the key tasks of the Organization during the chairmanship of Kazakhstan were discussed.

The Head of State noted that it is important for the CSTO to focus on the statutory areas of work, which are the most relevant and in demand for all member states. In his opinion, special attention should be paid to countering such challenges and threats as terrorism, drug and arms trafficking, and crimes in the information sphere.

The President stressed the importance of establishing constructive cooperation with other international structures in order to strengthen regional security.

Imangali Tasmagambetov informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the implementation of the Action Plan adopted at the initiative of Kazakhstan to implement the decisions of the November session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.

Issues of preparation for the next Session of the Collective Security Council and the upcoming CSTO trainings, which will be held on the territory of our country, were also considered.
