Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the government of the XUAR Erkin Tuniyaz, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
“Being recently in Urumqi, we had very good talks on the prospects for developing cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in general and, of course, with Xinjiang Province. We are closely following China's economic growth, noting the dynamic development and results that have been achieved in this process. China is one of the main countries in the world in terms of economic development. Therefore, for us, a neighboring state, cooperation is beneficial and necessary. As for Kazakhstan, we will do everything possible to ensure that this cooperation develops successfully, the President said.
The Head of State stressed that our country successfully cooperates with Xinjiang in many areas, including trade, industry, transport, logistics, agriculture and tourism.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region plays a strategic role in deepening Kazakhstan's multifaceted ties with China.

It should be noted that in March last year, a delegation from Xinjiang headed by Secretary of Communist Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China Ma Xinzhui visited Kazakhstan and reached very important agreements. In October last year, you paid us a visit, which gave a very important impetus to the further development of our practical cooperation," said the Chairman of the People's Government of the XUAR.
In conclusion, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the visit of the Chairman of the People's Government of Xinjiang to Kazakhstan would further deepen interregional cooperation and cross-border cooperation.
