Tokayev arrives at Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant

The Head of State visited the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

The President was informed about the state of production and development prospects of Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant JSC.

The plant is one of the largest vertically integrated producers of titanium sponge, titanium ingots and alloys in the world with a full production cycle from the raw materials extraction to end-product output. The production structure includes 5 main and 6 auxiliary workshops, as well as subsidiaries and joint ventures. The share of Kazakh titanium in the global segment is 11%, in the aerospace industry - more than 20%.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the plant's products are certified by such global major manufacturers as Airbus, Boeing, TIMET, ATI, Safran, UKAD, Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Dynamet, Howmet, POSCO, Baoti, MIDHANI.

Kazakh titanium is used in shipbuilding, energy, aerospace, oil and gas and medicine. The whole volume of products is exported to the United States, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea, India and China.

In the coming decades, the plant plans to implement 25 investment projects worth 207 billion tenge. The Head of State inspected the production workshops and talked with the workers of the plant.
