"SMEs to feel reduction of administrative burden" – Kazakh PM
Issues of further support for small and medium-sized businesses were discussed at a government session chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, El.kz reports citing primeminister.kz.
The Head of Government noted that extensive work is being carried out to support domestic entrepreneurs. The share of small and medium-sized businesses in the country's GDP has increased to 36.5%, and by 2030 it is planned to reach the level of 40%.
"To achieve this goal, a new regulatory policy is already being introduced in entrepreneurial activity. The ongoing reform "clean state" increases the effectiveness of incentive measures to boost business operations. As of today, 9,000 unnecessary requirements have already been eliminated. The remaining about 1,000 such requirements are excluded within the framework of the draft law on doing business," Alikhan Smailov said.
According to Kazakh PM, an automated risk management system in the areas of control and supervision has been launched this year. As a result, scheduled business inspections and cases of bringing entrepreneurs to justice will be significantly reduced.
"Thus, the business will feel a reduction in the administrative burden," the Prime Minister said.
According to Alikhan Smailov, at the same time, some issues that constrain the development of entrepreneurship remain unresolved.
"For example, akimats cannot cope with the growing needs of businesses to connect to basic infrastructure. The regions need to bring engineering networks and communications more quickly for the timely commissioning of planned projects," the Prime Minister said.
