Screening of Kazakh film “Summer of 1941” take place in Sofia

As part of the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Embassy of Kazakhstan organized a screening of the Kazakh film “Summer of 1941” at the Russian Cultural and Information Centre in Sofia,El.kz cites Kazakh FM.

The event, organized with the assistance of the NGO «State Center for the Support of National Cinema», was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Kazakh diaspora and Bulgarian moviegoers.  

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Viktor Temirbayev stressed that Kazakhstan has made a huge contribution to the common Victory, the triumph of justice and freedom on Earth. The Kazakh diplomat drew attention to the military and labor exploits of our compatriots during the World War II, which serve as an example of incredible courage and true patriotism for the younger generation. Also he noted that the Victory was won at the cost of incredible efforts and colossal sacrifices, in particular, it was forged thanks to the unparalleled courage and indomitable spirit of front-line soldiers, perseverance and dedication of home front workers.

The film “Summer 1941” directed by Bekbolat Shekerov tells about the battles with partisan detachments during the Great Patriotic War. The film tells the biographical story of an outstanding Kazakh figure, Lieutenant Adi Sharipov, who distinguished himself by his valor during the World War II and led sabotage groups.

The Kazakh film aroused great interest among the Bulgarian audience and all the guests of the event.
