SCO Secretary-General meets with Chairman of EEC Executive Committee

In Astana, on the sidelines of the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Bakytzhan Sagintayev,  El.kz reports citing the telegram channel of the SCO Secretariat.

Zhang Ming spoke about the key areas of the SCO's work and the preparations for the summit in Astana. He welcomed the upcoming participation of Bakytzhan Sagintayev in the SCO Plus meeting, stressing the readiness of the SCO to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of economy and trade.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev reported on the goals and objectives of the EAEU, including in the field of establishing international relations, expressed the readiness of the EEC to strengthen cooperation between the two associations in the spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding between the SCO Secretariat and the Eurasian Economic Commission. It is worth noting that the Memorandum of Understanding between the SCO Secretariat and the EEC was signed on September 17, 2021 in Dushanbe.
