Scientific Institute of Horse Breeding and Fodder Production launched in Kazakhstan
The Kazakh Research Institute of Horse Breeding and Fodder Production LLP has been created In Aktobe on the basis of an agricultural experimental station, El.kz reports.
The Institute was established on behalf of the Kazakh President to focus on the development of horse breeding and support local breeds. Among the key tasks are improving the breeding qualities of horses, creating breeding programs and promoting Kazakhstani breeds to international markets.
The new scientific center sets to increase the number of breeding horses by 6-7% in five years.
The institute will train horse breeders, and the construction of a specialized veterinary clinic will provide horses with high-quality medical care.
Until 2035, the centre is designed to increase the productivity of the horses and to introduce the modern breeding technologies. It is expected that the productivity of local breeds will be increased by 20-25%.
Integration with foreign scientific institutions is also expected. Joint research, exchange of experience and introduction of advanced technologies will help make Kazakhstani horse breeding competitive in the world market.
