Quarantine due to anthrax imposed in village of Kostanay region
Quarantine has been imposed due to the detection of anthrax in cattle in the village Prirechnoye of Kostanay region,El.kz reports with reference to Eldala.kz.
Restrictive measures will remain in effect until the stabilization of the situation.
There have been no reports of cattle being culled.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2023, cases of anthrax were registered in four regions of Kazakhstan: Akmola, Zhambyl, Turkestan and Karaganda. As a result of the infection, one person died.
Over the past year, the facts of the lack of vaccination of animals against anthrax, taking into account the frequency of vaccination of young animals, the improper condition of anthrax burials, the uncontrolled movement of animals and their incomplete identification were revealed.
