Project of Kazakh schoolchildren in robotics became best in US
Almaty schoolchildren presented an innovative project "gravitational batteries" in the United States.
The Western Edge Open Robotics Championship was held in the American city of Long Beach. The team was represented by 12 students of the tenth grade of the High Tech Academy and their two coaches-mentors.
Young Kazakhstanis performed won the "Best Innovative Project" award in the "Energy" category among 80 teams from 20 countries.
The basic idea is to store excess energy during the day with the help of gravity batteries and give them away at night. One such installation is capable of providing a daily rate of about 75 houses," said Vasily Kryuchkov, a physics teacher at an Almaty school.
