Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Astana International Financial Center, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov told the presidents about the main activities of the financial center and its contribution to the development of regional initiatives.
The volume of investments attracted through the AIFC in the economy of Kazakhstan exceeds 13 billion US dollars, of which 5.9 billion are portfolio investments on the AIX exchange and 7.3 billion are investments by AIFC member companies. Today, about 3200 companies from over 80 countries of the world operate here. Among them are 6 large companies from Armenia, which specialize in the fields of information and communication technologies, financial services and insurance.
The Presidents were acquainted with the AIFC judicial system and with the activities of the Court and the International Arbitration Centre. It should be noted that the AIFC Committee and the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia have a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of supervision and regulation of banking and insurance activities, securities markets.
