President Tokayev receives akim of Kostanay region
The Head of State received Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov, who reported on the significant progress of the region and on the socio-economic development of Kostanay region for 2023, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
According to Aksakalov over the past year there was positive growth in key macroeconomic indicators.
He reported an 11% increase in the volume of manufacturing, 7% in construction, 8.5% in investment in fixed assets, 3% in transportation and 5% in housing commissioning. Industry accounted for more than 30% of the gross regional product. In mechanical engineering, it is planned to expand the range of car models, including the assembly of 30 thousand Chevrolet Onix cars per year and the construction of a plant together with the Korean automaker KIA.
The region launched 69 water supply projects for a total of 21 billion tenge. 37 projects have been completed, 347 villages have been provided with drinking water.
In the educational sector, three new schools for 1,980 pupils are being built and it is planned to build 9 modern schools for 7,500 pupils by 2025 as part of the Comfortable School project. Also in the Kostanay region, the IQostanay Schoolchildren's Palace was opened, providing opportunities for the development of 1300 children.
Aksakalov also announced the development of a feasibility study for laying the main gas pipeline from Aktobe region to Kostanay region. The project will allow the implementation of major investment projects.
The Head of State instructed Kumar Aksakalov to keep heating issues under control, and to ensure timely implementation of the region’s gasification project and preparation for the spring sowing campaign.
