President of Kazakhstan meets with Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan General Asim Munir

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan General Asim Munir, El.kz reports via Aqorda.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation in the defense sector, including military education and training of specialists.

President Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan views Pakistan as an important strategic partner in South Asia. He noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations and pointed to ample opportunities for deepening cooperation - both in the military field and in trade, transport and logistics.

General Asim Munir conveyed greetings from the Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif  and expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries.

The parties noted the importance of giving an additional impetus to the Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation and stressed the need for more active use of potential in various sectors, including the economy, security and humanitarian cooperation.
