President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Astana
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Astana to participate in the VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.
Ilham Aliyev was met at the capital's airport by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.
The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan at the end of last year increased by 14.3% and amounted to $529.4 million, in January-June of this year - $280.6 million.
The governments are implementing joint projects in the oil and gas, transport and logistics sectors, in the field of digital communications and the space industry. Among them are projects within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Also, a joint Direct Investment Fund has been established for the potential of bilateral cooperation.
