Persian leopard spotted again in Ustyurt State Nature Reserve

Persian leopard was seen in the Ustyurt State Nature Reserve for the fifth time, El.kz reports citing the Ustyurt State Reserve.

The Persian leopard was captured on trail cameras installed as part of an international wildlife monitoring project.

Previously the Persian leopard was caught on trail cameras  in the territory of the park between October 29 and December 21, 2024.

The new case confirms that the territory of the Ustyurt Reserve continues to be an important habitat for this endangered species.

The Persian leopard is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan and recognized as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
