Parliament of Kazakhstan approves amendments to constitutional law on judiciary in first reading
Deputies of the Parliament at a joint meeting of the chambers approved in the first reading the draft Constitutional Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan", El.kz reports.
The bill was initiated by parliamentarians and developed in order to implement the instructions of the Head of State to ensure the quality of the administration of justice and improve the professionalism of judges. Its goal is to further develop the judicial system.
In particular, a new mechanism is being introduced for the verification of materials by the Judicial Jury when considering a case against a judge on the facts of gross violation of the law, which will make it possible to respond more effectively to violations by judges.
The amendments also change the procedure for the organization and activities of the Commission on the Quality of Justice, as well as strengthen the rights and social guarantees of judges in terms of ensuring their independence.
