Olzhas Bektenov pays official visit to Baku

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov as part of his official visit to Baku,El.kz reports citing primeminister.kz.

During the intergovernmental talks with Azerbaijani PM Ali Asadov, issues of trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the transport and logistics sector, and the development of cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed.

In 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $533 million. Over the past year, the volume of cargo transportation along the route of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route increased by 62% and reached 4.5 million tons.

The parties confirmed their intention to make every effort to raise bilateral trade to a higher level.

Following the meetings, a number of bilateral documents were signed. Among them is a document on the design and construction of an underwater fiber-optic communication line along the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan route.

The government heads discussed the prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in other areas of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

The Azerbaijani side highly appreciated Kazakhstan's contribution to the process of restoring Karabakh.
