Oil drilling begins in new field of Aktobe region
KazMunayGas has started drilling the first exploratory well with a depth of 3,000 meters at the Karazhar site in the Aktobe region, El.kz reports.
The Karazhar site is a sub-eaves Permo-Triassic trap on the eastern side of the Caspian sedimentary basin.
Drilling of the first exploratory well at the exploration block is an important step in strengthening the resource base of the Aktobe region.
KMG is actively engaged in geological exploration aimed at searching for hydrocarbons and increasing the resource base, especially in regions with mature fields where there is a natural depletion of reserves
The launch of new exploration projects is aimed at the socio-economic development of the regions and confirms KMG's commitment to strategic priorities aimed at supporting the domestic oil and gas industry and ensuring sustainable growth in the face of declining available reserves.
