Number of tourists from China to Kazakhstan reached 650 thousand people

This was announced by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov during an official meeting with the Mr. Han Chunlin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the PRC to Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.

At the meeting, the parties noted that cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and sports is developing at a high level. Last year, Kazakh and Chinese athletes took part in significant competitions held on each other's territory.

Kazakh athletes participated in 31 sports events organized in China, and Chinese athletes participated in 15 competitions in Kazakhstan. Tourism also remains an important area of bilateral cooperation. In recent years, cities such as Almaty, Astana, Turkestan and Aktau have been growing in popularity among Chinese tourists. The introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries, an increase in the number of direct flights and the active promotion of the tourism potential of Kazakhstan contributed to a significant increase in indicators in the industry.

"On behalf of the Head of State, the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China was organized last year. Over 30 events were held in major cities of China, including road shows, forums, exhibitions, concerts and other events. As a result of the work done, last year the influx of tourists from China to Kazakhstan exceeded 650 thousand people. This indicates the high interest of Chinese citizens in our culture, history and natural attractions," said Yerbol Myrzabosynov.

It is known that this year China announced the Year of Tourism in Kazakhstan. At the end of the meeting, the Minister stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to provide comprehensive support for the successful holding of all events within the framework of the Year of Tourism.
