At the end of 2024, 2.8 million people visited 14 national parks in Kazakhstan, which is 18% more compared to the previous year,El.kz reports citing Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol  Myrzabossynov noted that there is an increase in ecotourism interest in the country. To meet the growing demand, 8 visitor centers, as well as trails and basic infrastructure, have already been built on the basis of national parks. In the near future, it is planned to expand facilities, build new visitor centers and digitize the access system, similar to the system implemented in Burabay.

One of the key areas of work was the development of the Almaty mountain cluster, which provides for the construction of a world-class ski resort. The project includes a trail of up to 150 kilometres in length and is aimed at attracting up to 5 million tourists a year. The Comprehensive Plan is being implemented on behalf of Kazakh President.

In addition, much attention is paid to the tourist zone of Mangystau, where the conditions for access to unique natural locations such as Tuzbayir, Kyzylkup, Torysh and Airakty will be improved. It is planned to build new facilities and form a modern tourist infrastructure.

The Ministry continues to implement the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Tourism, aimed at increasing accessibility, creating a comfortable environment and creating a sustainable interest in domestic and inbound tourism.
