New president of Kazakhstan Football Federation appointed
Marat Omarov headed the Kazakhstan Football Federation, El.kz reports.
Marat Omarov was born on September 20, 1988. He graduated from the University of York in 2010, a master's degree from the London School of Economics in 2011 and a program at Harvard Business School in 2018.
He holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences and specializes in philosophy, politics and economics, as well as the world economy.
He held the positions of Advisor in the Ministries of Economy, National Economy and Economic Development of Kazakhstan, Deputy Director of the Department in the Ministry of National Economy, Managing Director of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Chairman of the Board of QazTechVentures JSC and Managing Directors of Baiterek NMH JSC.
Prior to his appointment as head of the federation, he headed the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, Marat Omarov was a member of the Board of Directors of a number of large organizations, including “Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan” JSC, Kazyna Capital Management Joint Stock Company and Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC.
For his professional activities, he was awarded Order of “Kurmet”, as well as the a jubilee medal "20years of the Constitution of Kazakhstan"(2015), "25th Anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2016) and "30th Anniversary of Tenge".
