The Head of State received President of CEPEJ Francesco Depasquale, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
On the sidelines of the IX Congress of Judges of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed with the President of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) Francesco Depasquale the key aspects of reforming the judicial system.
The Head of State noted the important role of the Organization in raising the standards of justice in the international arena. According to him, Kazakhstan attaches particular importance to the introduction of best practices of law enforcement mechanisms in the national judicial system.
As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, our country has firmly embarked on the path of building a legal and democratic state. In this context, the reform of the judicial system and the rule of law play a crucial role.
For his part, Francesco Depasquale positively assessed the ongoing legal reforms in Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to cooperate in ensuring human rights and improving the efficiency of the justice system.
