Mangystau region set world record in wearing national clothes
5000 people dressed in Kazakh national clothes gathered in Aktau for Nauryz celebration and set a Guinness World Record in the nomination "The largest number of people in Kazakh national clothes", El.kz reports citing press service of akim of Mangystau region.
Over 5500 people registered for the event called "Best Fest Nauryz", who contributed to the popularization of the cultural heritage of the Kazakh people at the world level.

Representatives of various industries and ethnic groups, people of the older generation, as well as residents from other regions and cities of the country participated at the event.
The record setting ceremony took place on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Representatives from the Guinness World Records officially recorded the achievements. According to the results, Kazakhstan holds the record for the largest gathering of people wearing national clothes.

Akim of the Mangystau region Kilybai Nurdaulet noted the importance of this historical event in promoting the cultural heritage of our people at the international level and congratulated on Nauryz holiday.
“Today we have revealed to the world the deep history and rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, our national traditions. A world record for the Kazakh national costume has been set in sacred Mangystau region. Congratulations to all our compatriots on this great success! I express my gratitude to the initiative group engaged in the popularization of the culture of the Kazakh people, representatives of the Guinness Book of Records, who came specially from London, and all the participants who contributed to setting the record! Our country celebrates Nauryz for 10 days, and each day is filled with a special meaning”, Nurdaulet Kilybay said.
In his turn, the official representative of the Guinness Book of Records, Richard Stenning, who presented a special certificate to the akim of the region, congratulated the Kazakhstanis who achieved a high result.
- Dear Kazakhstanis, you made a record on the day of the celebration of Nauryz, the main holiday of your nation. Today I have witnessed that the Kazakh country is strong in its traditions. The event is also organized at a very high level. I sincerely congratulate you on this historic event!" Richard Stenning said.
During the event, national dishes were presented, as well as sports competitions in Kazakh wrestling, togyzkumalak and asyk atu game were held.
The famous artists presented a theatrical vocal and choreographic performance.
