The capital city is home to 130 ethnic minorities who often gather in the citizens in order to introduce their culture. On the eve of Kazakhstan People’s Unity Day, Tatar-Bashkir Sunday School in cooperation with the cultural and educational center "Kayum Nasyri Institute" held an open lesson in the House of Friendship of Nur-Sultan in honor of the great Tatar poet and writer Gabdulla Tukay, who gained great fame in the Turkic-speaking world. Gabdulla Tukay entered the history of Tatar literature as a great national poet who laid the foundation for national poetry.

In his works, the poet called on all people, regardless of nationality and religion, to friendship, good neighborliness and unity.

As the director of Sunday school Zuhra Sayapova noted, the event is devoted to two significant dates, it is the birthday of the great Tatar poet and writer Gabdulla Tukay and the holiday of Kazakhstan People’s Unity.

- I think that transfer of culture, traditions and language from generation to generation is realized through such events. The desire of children to know and preserve the heritage of our people is the most important thing," said director of Sunday school.

Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan Lyazzat Kussainova delivered a welcoming speech.

-It is gratifying that this holiday is celebrated by the Tatar-Bashkir Cultural Centre together with the Sunday School. I believe that children should know the history of the holiday of Kazakhstan People’s Unity and the history of their ethnos," said Head of the Secretariat.

During the event, teachers and students of the school, as well as creative teams of the center performed on the stage. One of the highlights was the performance of Duslyk vocal ensemble of Tatar-Bashkir cultural centre “Tan”. Participants of the ethno-cultural association sang incendiary Tatar songs and bright national dances.

At the end of the rich concert program the guests had an opportunity to evaluate the exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the writer.
