The Head of State received the Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency Zhanat Elimanov, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was reported  on the main results of the Agency 's work for 2024 and tasks set for the coming period.

According to Zhanat Elimanov, the implementation of measures of the Comprehensive Plan to Counter the Shadow Economy for 2023-2025 allowed to reduce its level by 1.3%.

In particular, based on the results of the Agency's activities, the investigation of 1,312 criminal cases was completed, damage was compensated for 236.8 billion tenge,152.3 billion tenge of criminal proceeds had been confiscated.

20 pre-trial investigations have been launched against organized criminal groups and 1 against a transnational group. 42 financial pyramids were liquidated, about 15 thousandwebsites and accounts advertising fraudulent schemes  were blocked, 327 chats in messengers were closed, no prevented financial losses of more than 2 million citizens.

41 online gambling platforms on social networks, 30 gambling halls, illegal casinos and bookmakers were revealed, access to 11.7 thousand online casino sites was closed. Unjustified budget expenses to the amount of 120 billion tenge were prevented, attempts to legalize criminal proceeds through 36 illegal crypto exchangers were suppressed.

The President was also informed that following the special operation with the participation of financial intelligence units of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia, three large-scale "drug shops" were closed and 35 drug dealers were detained.

The activities of 1,787 legal entities that made fictitious financial transactions were prevented , as well as 1,200 attempts to transfer funds to the accounts of terrorist and extremist organizations were identified and blocked.

Following the meeting, the Head of State set a number of tasks on key areas of the Agency's activities.
