Kazakhstan’s investment potential presented in Brussels

“Team Belgium Global Gateway” roundtable dedicated to investment opportunities in Central Asia was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, El.kz cites MFA.
The event, organized by Belgium’s Foreign Ministry and the Chambers of Commerce of Wallonia (AWEX), Flanders (FIT), and the Brussels-Capital Region (HUBBrussels), was attended by representatives from more than 20 major Belgian companies.
In her opening remarks, Director General for Bilateral Affairs at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Birgit Stevens, highlighted the strong interest of Belgian companies in implementing mutually beneficial investment projects in Central Asia.
Belgium’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Henri Vantieghem, spoke about the dynamic development of bilateral economic ties between Belgium and the countries of the region. The Belgian diplomat emphasized that projects in the fields of transport, logistics, and telecommunications in Kazakhstan have great potential.
Participants of the roundtable were introduced to the investment preferences offered by the Government of Kazakhstan to foreign investors, the advantages of doing business in Kazakhstan, comprehensive support from “Kazakh Invest” JSC, as well as investment opportunities in the sectors of transport and logistics, telecommunications, IT, energy, and construction. Special attention was given to the financial and legal mechanisms provided by the Astana International Financial Center, where more than 3,500 companies are registered. Belgian businesses were invited to participate in projects for the construction of the Alatau city, the development of the Middle Corridor’s potential, and in projects for the production of green energy in Kazakhstan, which will be exported to the European Union.
The event concluded with a Q&A session during which participants, noting Kazakhstan’s growing geostrategic role, expressed interest in promising investment directions and the priorities for developing the country’s transit and transport potential.
