Ambassador of Kazakhstan to South Korea Nurgali Arystanov presented Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities at the Global Business Forum in Seoul, El.kz cites Kazakh FM.

The event gathered over 160 participants, including executives of major corporations and holdings, construction and development, transport and logistics, engineering and industrial, consulting and investment companies, as well as representatives of government and public organizations, leading universities, media outlets, and the diplomatic corps.

The event was organized by The Korea Herald, the South Korea’s leading English-language daily newspaper. The main goal of the forum was to create a platform for establishing connections with leaders of the Korean business community and strengthening business cooperation.

The opening ceremony featured welcome speeches by Choi Jin-young, CEO of Herald Media Group, Jeong Won-joo, Chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and Shin Jung-hoon, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.

In his remarks, Ambassador Arystanov noted that, based on the results of the first nine months of 2024, the Republic of Korea ranked 4th among the largest investors in Kazakhstan, with an inflow of foreign direct investment amounting to 907 million US dollars.

He highlighted the successful operation of more than 740 Korean companies in various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy, as well as the implementation of several successful investment and breakthrough projects with the participation of major South Korean companies. The Ambassador emphasized the Government of Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to further improve the investment climate and create a favorable business environment, in line with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s course for comprehensive modernization and economic transformation of the country.

The Kazakh diplomat invited South Korean companies to invest in Kazakhstan, highlighting key sectors such as infrastructure, information technology and artificial intelligence, drones, banking, rare earth metals, hydrogen energy, healthcare, education, and creative industries.

During the forum, guests were shown videos about Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities and tourist attractions, including the “Born Bold” media campaign, and were provided with printed materials on the country’s economic and investment potential.
