According to a survey conducted by the Institute for Public Policy, 70.7% of respondents believe that Kazakhstan is heading in the right direction, El.kz reports.

Rural residents are most optimistic, with a respective 80.7% expressing optimism about their country's future.

The overall assessment of the current political and socio-economic situation also demonstrates a high level of approval - 76.5% and 67%, respectively.

In the political system, citizens note the increase in the transparency of the electoral system, the restoration of the Constitutional Court and the possibility of direct election of akims at the rural and district levels. Gender equality initiatives had been an important step, opening up new opportunities for women to participate in political and public life.

In socio-economic terms, the positive dynamics was provided by an increase in the incomes of public sector employees, the launch of large-scale programs to support the population, the provision of fair access to land resources, as well as a reduction in the retirement age for workers in harmful and dangerous industries.

Overall, 89% of those surveyed described their mood as positive. The positive attitude is especially pronounced among young people aged 18 to 35 years, people with higher education and both single and family citizens.
