Kazakhstanis become champions of Asia in cycling
The Kazakh national team won the medal standings of the Asian Cycling Championships, El.kz reports with reference to the website of the Cycling Federation of Kazakhstan.
On June 13, the Asian Road Cycling Championships, which began on June 7, ended in Rayong, Thailand. In the group race among men-elite, which amounted to 156 kilometers, the gold medal was won by Gleb Brusensky from Kazakhstan, and the second place was taken by Evgeny Gidich.
In total, the Kazakh team won 15 medals, including eight gold, four silver and three bronze medals, making it the strongest team in the medal standings.
President of the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation Nurlan Smagulov noted that the team fulfilled all the tasks and scored the required number of rating points for Olympic licenses. He also noted the high professionalism of coaches and athletes, stressing that the races were difficult due to the difficult terrain and abnormal heat.
