The grand opening of a direct flight in the direction of Ankara-Astana-Ankara was held in Astana, El.kz reports.
The opening ceremony of the flight took place at the airport of the capital and was attended by representatives of the CAC OF MIID RK, IATA Director General for Central Asia, Ambassador of Turkey to Kazakhstan.
Ankara-Astana flights will be operated 2 times a week, from Astana - on Monday and Wednesday, and from Ankara - on Sunday and Tuesday. Including, the new route the number of weekly flights between Turkey and Kazakhstan has increased to 30.
"Today we are involved in the event when the two capitals are connected. This is very important. Because it will strengthen ties between our states," Turkish Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ufuk Ekici said.
