Kazakhstan to open National University of Water Resources and Irrigation

Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev held a meeting on the restoration of the Zhambyl Hydro-reclamation and Construction Institute on the basis of the Taraz Regional University, El.kz reports.

The meeting was attended by Science and Higher Education Minister Sayasat Nurbek, Vice Ministers of Water Resources and Irrigation, National Economy.

Kanat Bozumbayev heard a report on the creation of the appropriate material and technical base of the new university, financing and staffing. He recalled that the instruction to restore one of the basic universities of the country was given by the Head of State. The university will be given national status and will specialize exclusively in water issues. The teaching staff will also include foreign scientists, which will improve the level of education and research in this area.
