Kazakhstan to launch production of sustainable aviation fuel

Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev met with Director for the ICAO “European and North Atlantic” Nicolas Rallo. The parties discussed the issues of "green" transformation in Kazakhstan, paying special attention to the development of the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Energy.

The Kazakh side stressed its commitment to the development of renewable energy sources and the implementation of environmentally sustainable projects, which creates favorable conditions for investors.

KazMunayGas is considering the possibility of launching SAF production. The ICF recommendations for the construction of a bioethanol processing plant in SAF and plans to expand bioethanol production at the Bio Operations plant are mentioned.

"Kazakhstan is demonstrating its readiness to build a plant for the production of sustainable aviation fuel and is actively working to create conditions for the development of clean energy," the minister said.

The meeting emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development and Kazakhstan's desire to take a leading position in the region in the field of green energy.
