Kazakhstan to host 2024 ICPC World Finals

From September 15 to September 20, 2024, the 48th final of the 2024 ICPC World Finals will be held in Astana,El.kz reports.

This prestigious competition will be held in Central Asia for the first time. 70,000 teams from 111 countries and 3,000 universities participated in the qualifying stages. 142 teams representing the world's leading universities, such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Oxford and others, reached the finals. Kazakhstan will be represented by five teams from the country's leading technical universities.

Particular attention was paid to the achievement of Kazakhstan's Batyr Sardarbekov, who won the first "gold" for Kazakhstan at the 2023 ICPC World Finals. This achievement inspired a new generation of programmers and strengthened the country's position in the IT field.

The grand opening of the championship will take place on September 16, among the guests of honor are expected to be Bill Poucher, ICPC Executive Director, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp. Timur Turlov, as well as representatives of Huawei and JetBrains.

The championship will also feature workshops and competitions, including Huawei's ICPC Challenge and JetBrains' unique blind-coding workshop.
