Kazakhstan to attract over $4.5 bln in investments from EDB

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the EDB Management Board Nikolai Podguzov, El.kz reports via Aqorda.

During the meeting, the sides summed up the results of cooperation for 2024 and discussed plans for the implementation of new investment projects in Kazakhstan.

According to Nikolai Podguzov, the volume of EDB investments in the country's economy amounted to $1.4 billion last year with the share of Kazakhstani projects in its portfolio reaching 60%.

Since the launch of the EDB Country Strategy for 2022–2026, the bank implemented its investment plan in the amount of $3.8 billion ahead of schedule.

Next year, the Eurasian Development Bank plans to invest over $1 billion in energy modernization, the development of renewable energy sources, transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as the reconstruction of roads of republican significance, industry and digital technologies.

President Tokayev positively assessed the results of the EDB's work and stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to further deepen cooperation.

The Head of State noted the significant contribution to the implementation of key infrastructure projects and the promotion of the green agenda in Eurasia.
