Kazakhstan takes part in ICAN-2024 in Kuala Lumpur
The Kazakh delegation headed by the Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev took part in ICAN-2024 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event is held in order to organize meetings of the member countries of the organization to expand the legal framework for international flights.
The President of the ICAO Council, Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, and over 700 people from more than 70 countries attended the event. About 800 bilateral negotiations were held.
Mr. Sciacchitano praised the progress of the work carried out by the Republic of Kazakhstan and confirmed his intention to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2025.
"As part of this event, the Kazakh delegation held talks with the aviation authorities of the Russian Federation, Singapore, Malaysia, Great Britain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Georgia, Morocco, Ethiopia and Rwanda, as a result of which, an agreement was reached with the countries to expand the legal framework for regular flights," the report says.
According to the agreements reached, the number of permitted frequencies with four countries (Vietnam, Morocco, Ethiopia, Rwanda) was increased more than fivefold (from 14 to 73 flights per week). Also, the "open sky" regime has been established with five countries (Singapore, Vietnam, Morocco, Ethiopia, Georgia).
