Kazakhstan strengthens its position in international education
Modern programs and partnerships help the country's universities meet international standards,El.kz reports citing Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The internationalization of higher education has become one of the key directions of Kazakhstan's educational policy. On behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 23 foreign universities from the UK, USA, China, South Korea and other countries have been attracted to the country. 34 partnership agreements have been signed, and 11 more are planned to be implemented by 2025.
2090 educational grants have been allocated for Kazakhstani students in partner universities. Among the key areas of training are pedagogy, engineering, artificial intelligence and green energy. Branches of the world's leading universities, such as Heriot-Watt University (UK), Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Beijing University of Languages and Culture, as well as others, are already operating on the basis of Kazakh universities.
International initiatives include training in artificial intelligence. As part of the AI-Sana project, 100 thousand students from universities in Kazakhstan will be trained in programming, AI and startup acceleration. 20 new educational programs have been developed, and courses from Google, NVIDIA and Huawei have been introduced on the basis of universities.
21 Kazakh universities were included in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
The President noted the need to update approaches to teaching, including the mandatory study of artificial intelligence and other innovative disciplines.
The Bolashak Scholarship continues to help Kazakh students get an education abroad, while the focus is shifted to technical and engineering areas.
These steps strengthen Kazakhstan's educational and scientific position in the international arena, creating a solid foundation for the training of specialists of the future.
