Kazakhstan strengthens copyright protections for content and music creators

The general director of KazAK, Ainur Yesendikova spoke about the agreement reached with Meta on the copyright protection in the digital space, El.kz reports.
According to Ainur Yesendikova, the agreement reflects a common desire to build a fair and sustainable ecosystem in which the creative work of authors, composers and all the representatives of cultural industry receives due recognition and protection.
"The new agreement includes a strengthened reporting and distribution system, fair and timely compensation to rights holders. Clarity in reporting approval by both parties will allow KazAK to distribute payments with greater transparency and accuracy, strengthening the trust of our members and international partners," Yesendikova said.
KazAK, as the speaker noted, continues to actively promote the interests of authors not only in the country, but also abroad.
"KazAK is firmly committed to protecting the interests of authors and composers in Kazakhstan and in the international arena.
Today's agreement reaffirms this commitment," she stressed.
The head of the authors' society also expressed confidence that strong partnerships with digital platforms such as Meta play a key role in shaping a fair future on the Internet.
“We are convinced that strong partnerships between platforms and collective management organizations such as KazAK are crucial to building a fair digital future in which creators receive due protection, recognition and compensation for their contributions," Yesendikova added.
