Persecution of a person can be recognized as a criminal offense, El.kz reports.

In Kazakhstan, the issue of introducing criminal liability for stalking is being considered. Deputies of Mazhilis took the initiative to make a corresponding decree to the bill on amendments to criminal legislation, adding a separate article regarding prosecution.

According to Abzal Kuspan, this proposal has already received support in the working group, and it is planned to consider it in the second reading in the Mazhilis in the coming weeks.

"There is a special article - "stalking" in the form of a criminal offense in the bill. We plan to submit the document for consideration by the chamber next or in a week - for the second reading," the parliamentarian said.

If the amendment is adopted, the prosecution of a person may become a criminal offense, which will provide additional protection for citizens from obsessive and aggressive forms of behavior.
