The 13th Conference of Culture Ministers in the Islamic World, organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(ICESCO), is being held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), El.kz reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information.
Representatives of 50 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) attended the event. Kazakhstan is represented by the Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Evgeniy Kochetov.
ICESCO unites 54 states from 57 OIC member countries. Samarkand is declared the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2025.
