Kazakhstan’s election reflects recognition of its active role and consistent contributions to global efforts to combat the drug threat. The country implements a comprehensive approach to drug control, with a strong focus on border security, prevention, rehabilitation, and the strengthening of law enforcement.
Kazakhstan also actively supports regional cooperation mechanisms, including the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors (CARICC) based in Almaty and remains firmly committed to fulfilling its international obligations in the area of drug control.
As a member of the Commission, Kazakhstan will continue to promote international cooperation and contribute to global efforts to build a world free from illicit drugs.
