Kazakhstan and Pakistan committed to strengthening interfaith cooperation

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin met with the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of Pakistan, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, El.kz cites Kazakh FM.

The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of interfaith dialogue.

Minister Yousaf emphasized his intention to implement a number of initiatives within the framework of his current activities, including those aimed at strengthening engagement with Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Kistafin, in turn, informed the interlocutor about key areas of the bilateral agenda, including the development of cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The Ambassador also handed over an official invitation to the Minister to participate in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled to take place on September, 2025, in Astana.

The Minister, in response, highlighted Kazakhstan’s contribution to promoting global dialogue in the religious sphere and highly appreciated the significance of the Congress as a unique international platform addressing contemporary global challenges. He expressed readiness for close cooperation with the Kazakh side and confirmed his intention to take part in the Congress.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify collaboration, including through theological universities of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
