Kazakhstan and Iran aim to increase trade turnover to $3 billion

Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Yersaiyn Nagaspayev held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign states and international companies. The discussion focused on the development of partnerships in industry, the mining sector and the localization of technologies, El.kz reports.
At the meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran, Ali Akbar, areas of cooperation in the fields of subsoil use and manufacturing industry were considered. The parties expressed mutual interest in launching joint projects, exchanging technologies and trade and economic ties.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Action Plan to bring bilateral trade to $3 billion, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for investors.
"It is important to continue to develop partnerships and create conditions for joint projects that will contribute to sustainable economic growth and the creation of new jobs," Yersaiyn Nagaspayev said.
The Minister also met with the Minister Of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Sierra Leone Timothy Musa Kabba. The meeting discussed the possibilities of joint investments in the field of subsoil use, the exchange of experience in the field of field development and the attraction of Sierra Leonean investors to the mining sector of Kazakhstan.
The meeting with representatives of the American company General Electric HealthCare, the world leader in the production of medical equipment discussed the localization of the production of medical equipment in Kazakhstan, as well as the creation of joint ventures.
The parties also touched upon the issues of technology transfer, service and training of qualified personnel.
International meetings have become an important step in strengthening investment dialogue and technological cooperation with foreign partners. The Ministry continues to implement a policy of openness and creating conditions for the inflow of capital and technology into key sectors of the economy.
